This is one of my favorite TED Talks. It is by cognitive scientist Daphne Bavelier, and she discusses some of the positive cognitive effects of playing action video games. So Call of Duty and Fallout are actually good for you. Playing action video games, such as these, improves spatial recognition, eyesight, attention span, and the ability to multi-task more efficiently.
